Cody Mcfadyen was born in Texas in 1968. He designed websites before selling his first novel, Shadow Man, in 2005. He has since had a second book – The Face of Death – published. Both were international best sellers. He lives in Southern California with his two black labs, often referred to as ‘The Black Forces of Destruction.’ He drinks coffee (copiously), plays guitar (badly), and reads (voraciously). More Shameless Self Promotion

Ah yes, me. Amazing, wonderful me.

Sorry, some jokes never get old. Here's a link to a writeup I just did about how I came up with the idea for The Face of Death, for those that are interested in that kind of thing.

How I came Up With The Face of Death.

Cody, Cody, Cody.......

Quite a while back, I sent you an e-mail telling you how much I LOVED "Shadow Man". I had found it in a Goodwill store. I was quite surprised and amazed you had responded back to me. At the time of this correspondence, you were working on your second book "The Face of Death". You told me writing it (at times) was difficult. I have bought the book and read it some time back. Once again, you put forth an outstanding piece of writing. I am on pins and needles with anticipation for "The Darker Side".

I mentioned to you I was an avid reader. I read the interview written by Mayra Calvani. It was great to know you were/are an avid reader yourself. I too have read some Meg Gardiner. One author I have not read before (although the name sounds so familiar) is Kathryn Fox. Her books seem so interesting, but I have to tell you that so far, I have not come across an author that has quite your caliber of gripping intensity. I read the first one in two days, and your second one in a day and a half. There were times I had to put it down, walk away, give myself a break due to the intensity. Yet the "break" would never last long (maybe a 1/2 hour, if that) because I had to "get back to it".

Cody, to date, you are my favorite author. I foresee you being my favorite for quite some time to come.

P.S.

Needed to let you know that I apparently wasn't able to send the blog comment under my name. I didn't have an account and my husband did (Rob). My name is Kathleen. So, thankyou very much if you read through all I wrote and then this P.S. and understood it came from me and Not Rob.

Hi Kathleen,

I'm glad you're enjoying the series so far. Whatever writers say, praise is always accepted and appreciated. :)

I'm deep into the writing of book 4 as we speak. It's consumed my life, like all books do, but I'm happy with the progress thus far.

Back to it... thanks again.

You are working on the fourth book already? Wow! The third book just came out! Don't you feel the need to take a well deserved break?

Greetings,

Brigitte
